The Chalet

Chalet Chardon Bleu is a true hidden gem; a traditional Savoyard farmhouse standing quietly in a small hamlet in the Vallées des Belleville, a few minutes drive from the chocolate-box resort of St Martin de Belleville.

The chalet is fully refurbished, preserving the authentic features including the stunning vaulted dining room, the original beams, the large family bedrooms and a roaring log fire, creating a real home-from-home feeling in the Alps. We now also have a hot-tub on the deck to ensure you relax in style after a hard day on the piste.

The Service

We are passionate about providing you with a great holiday and exceptional service. The owners, Gra and Nicky, manage your booking through to when you arrive at the chalet, where Becky and Darren meet you and ensure your every need is met so you can have the perfect skiing holiday.

The Skiing

Saint Martin de Belleville gives great access to Les Trois Valleys, the largest ski domain in the world with 600km of pisted slopes. From the village you can ski to Courchevel, La Tania, Meribel, Meribel -Mottaret, Les Menuires, and Val Thorens. The area is well known for being guaranteed of snow because of the glacier at Val Thorens; the highest altitude ski resort in Europe.

There is skiing for everyone, from beginners through to powder-hounds. For the non-skiers we can also arrange snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, walking, dog sledding, ski touring, paragliding and much more.

Every morning we transport you from the chalet to the piste and pick you up in the evening at a time to suit you so you can enjoy a bit of après ski without having to lug skis and boots around.

The Food and Wine

We provide you with a hearty breakfast in the morning, a welcoming afternoon tea after a hard day on the slopes and a delicious 4-course gormet meal along with unlimited wine as part of the price of your week.

Our ski holidays offer excellent value for money and, in low season, very well priced ski breaks. In the summer, we offer the same level of service and do Bed and Breakfast style bookings so you can get out and active in the mountains.

Chalet Chardon Bleu is an original Savoyard farmhouse, completely refurbished whilst preserving authentic features such as the old beams, the vaulted dining rooms and the open log-fireplace.

Decorated with mountain charm, you will be able to relax in home-from home luxury. In the lounge, large, comfortable sofas and armchairs surround the fire with entertainment including satellite TV, a DVD player, stereo, internet access and PlayStation / Wii.

The dining room is in the converted ecurie; a magnificent room with vaulted ceilings. The morning sun filters in through the French windows and during the evening the lighting creates a warm and convivial atmosphere.

There are currently 6 bedrooms available, sleeping a maximum of 23 – 25 people and a suite, sleeping up to 6 people with independent kitchen and lounge.

All of the bedrooms are en-suite and each has been individually decorated to reflect either the charm of the local area, such as the Tarantaise room, or the classic French theme, such as the exciting Moulin Rouge room.

Chalet Chardon Bleu situated in a small hamlet just a few minutes drive from St Martin de Belleville. St Martin located at 1450m is an authentic Savoyard village and is often described as ‘the hidden gem’ of Les Trois Vallees. The area is ideal for ski lovers looking for an authentic village atmosphere a little apart from the crowds. St Martin offers the opportunity to stay in a pretty village while still having access to the biggest ski area in the world.

St Martin has all of the facilities, restaurants, shops and bars visitors would expect to find in any leading modern ski resort; whilst retaining the authentic feel of a traditional French mountain village. For food lovers the village offers cuisine at all levels; from the Michelin starred to the traditional mountain restaurants.

St Martin offers plenty of activities away from the slopes. For those looking to experience the stunning scenery of the Belleville Valley how about a Scenic horse and carriage ride. Looking for a bit more adventure then how about paragliding, husky sledging or snowmobiling.
