Description
Skibug specialises in great value, high altitude, catered ski chalet holidays in the French Alps. We are a small and friendly ski chalet company with traditional alpine ski chalets in La Plagne 1800. Our chalets are run by experienced and responsible hosts who serve freshly prepared, delicious and nutritious food.
Our prices include catered accommodation in one of our lovely chalets, free airport transfers, a ski hosting service and fantastic food with bottled wine. We can also arrange a private nanny service for the little ones. We use a very reputable, English speaking ski school in La Plagne and the equipment hire shop we use is consistently rated excellent by our guests.
Chalet le Nichoir is a lovely traditional alpine chalet with an unusually large lounge & dining area.
Skibug provides all the excellent service that you expect on a posh skiing holiday, with a lower price-tag and a down-to-earth attitude.
Facility Description
Chalet le Nichoir sleeps eight people in three twins and one double bedroom. All of the bedrooms have ensuite showers & sinks and are on the upper floor, in the eaves of the chalet, and have beautiful wooden beams giving the rooms a classic alpine feel. One of the bedrooms can accommodate a third person (it's a twin room so a bit of a squeeze).
Downstairs the tastefully furnished chalet has a spacious, sociable open plan layout with plenty of comfy seating, a log fire, widescreen TV and large terrace. In the living room there is an honesty bar that stocks beers, soft drinks & snacks. There are also loads of books and DVDs (including plenty for the kids) and a few games to keep you entertained.
The large terrace and balcony provide you with stunning views across the valley and there is plenty of safe outside space to play in the snow -
it is not uncommon to see children (usually children, that is) careering past the window on a sledge.
Location Description
The chalet is situated in a pretty wooded area of la Plagne called Plagne 1800 and is a short walk to the village centre of 1800 where there is a small supermarket, a tabac, a few restaurants and the La Mine pub.
The fantastic alpine resort of La Plagne covers a huge and varied area from an altitude of 1250m up to the glacier at over 3000m, has a relaxed and unpretentious feel and is great for families and groups of friends alike. The high altitude ensures excellent snow conditions throughout the season. La Plagne links to the neighbourng resort of Les Arcs, creating Paradiski, the fourth largest ski area in the world.
