Chalet Des Arbres is a beautiful traditional mountain style chalet and is situated just above Chantemerle in the Serre Chevalier valley.
Chalet des Arbres offers you the opportunity of long weekends or any length stay in catered accommodation offering a real home from home experience.
The chalet is run by Jane & Alec the owners, who provide either a fully catered service or, if you prefer just bed & breakfast -the choice is yours.
Our wish is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable one. Guests have commented ‘It ‘s liking staying with old friends’ which we take as a real compliment.
Facility Description
The Chalet has a top floor with 1 double room and 2 twin rooms, sleeping up to 6 people. Each room has bathrobes and hairdryers. Two of the bedrooms face the Prorel mountain and the Luc Alphand ski run which brings the skiers down into Chantemerle. There is one bathroom with bath and shower which leads to a separate toilet, and a second bathroom with shower room with toilet. The owners live below the ground floor giving exclusive use of bathrooms to the guests.
The ground floor has a large living room, dining area with spectacular views in both directions of the Serre Chevalier valley and from the front,the Luc Alphand ski run in to the village of Chantemerle. In the centre of the room there is large wood burner. For non skiers or those who just want to take a day off there is a TV (UK Satellite freeview) and a DVD player, DVD’s, books and games .
Location Description
Serre Chevalier is one of the largest ski areas in France. Due to its altitude it has got a fantastic snow record, combined with more than 300 days of sunshine every year.
There is spectacular mountain scenery and beautiful runs through France's biggest larch forest.
The resort comprises a collection of over a dozen villages all linked into the local ski area. Briancon, the highest city in Europe is only 2 Km away. Its old wall ed city has recently been awarded UNESCO status.
Chalet Des Arbres is situated just above Chantemerle one the pretty villages that makes up Serre Chevalier. The nearest ski slopes are about 10 mins walk away. A navette passes the Chalet every 30 mins and drops skiers off in the village next to the slopes.
