Maison Caramel

A boutique luxury ski chalet with 6 ensuite bedrooms offering very spacious accommodation right in the heart of Paradiski. Tucked into the wooded hillside under the village church, Maison Caramel is a 19th century alpine farmhouse with thick stone walls, flagstone and wood floors, log stoves and feather duvets for those chilly winter evenings.

Stylishly renovated to blend modern comfort with alpine charm, we own and manage the farmhouse ourselves. It has all the home-from-home comforts you’d expect, with fabulous skiing, walking and cycling right on your doorstep

Each of the bedrooms has its own character and individual style, but all aim to preserve the feeling of French farmhouse simplicity. There are polished wood floors, designer shower or bathrooms, and large balconies or terraces with views of the nearby mountains, river and village.

Catered to a high standard, we use organic and locally sourced ingredients where possible, and specialise in tasty, soul-satisfying farmhouse cooking.

It's just a few minutes from the ski slopes of Les Arcs and La Plagne in our chauffeured minibus. We drive you to the lifts and back whenever you’re ready. For the more adventurous, there's also easy access to Three Valleys, Tignes Val d'Isere and Sainte Foy. We can run ski safari trips for a small additional charge.

Arranged on three levels, Maison Caramel offers you:
*6 spacious ensuite bedrooms (one is a self-contained studio on the ground floor of the chalet), most with balconies or terrace
*Guest robes, slippers, hair dryer and complementary toiletries in all rooms
*Large sitting room with the exposed stone wall of the original barn, gorgeous red enamelled log stove and lovely mountain views
*Dining room with doors opening out onto the sunny garden and terraces
*Split level library / stube with a log stove and cosy sitting area, and doors to the garden grotto
*Infrared sauna, WIFI internet, satellite TV, DVD and stereo
*Heated boot room and large ski room (shared with Chalet Caramelli)

The farmhouse is available catered, B&B or self-catered. Sole occupancy is possible for groups of 12 or more. Large groups can rent both Maison Caramel and its sister chalet, Caramelli (on the top floor of the farmhouse), to give a total of 10 ensuite bedrooms / 27 beds.

Built into the hillside under Landry's 17th century church, Maison Caramel is in a lovely setting with woodland at the back and the village dropping away in front.

Landry is an old alpine farming village surrounded by ancient apple orchards and beautiful wild flower meadows. The village has two bars, a restaurant, post office and village store. Its tranquil, old-fashioned atmosphere offers a welcome contrast to some of the surrounding resorts with their package tour operators and ugly buildings.

Technically part of the Peisey-Vallandry ski resort (although actually closer to Montchavin-Les Coches in La Plagne), Landry is right in the heart of Paradiski. Created by the joining of Les Arcs and La Plagne by the Vanoise Express cable car, Paradiski rises to over 3400m and has 420 kms of lift-connected ski slopes and 144 lifts. There are beautiful forest runs, several nursery areas, snowboard parks, and two glaciers (the Bellecote and Aigle Rouge).

The Montchavin Les Coches and Peisey Vallandry valleys are also heaven for off-piste adventurers... and a favourite spot for international freeriders. We're happy to arrange off-piste trips with qualified mountain guides for advanced skiers and boarders. Ask us for details.
