Description
This is the ideal chalet for six. Nor surprisingly it is also one of our most expensive chalets. Not that any YSE holiday can be described as seriously expensive. Knowing that we will fill all of our holidays for most of Val d’Isère's long season means that we spread our costs very thinly. And whilst we don’t really count the cost of our food and wine etc, we tend not to squander much of your money on the more ostentatious frills, such as indoor swimming pools or outdoor hot tubs.
You can see its position from the pictures. It is surrounded on three sides by the nursery slopes. The Solaise cable car is 100m one way, the main chairlifts a quick glide the other. The man with yellow legs is passing in front of the four large windows.
Our chalet occupies much of the top two floors (there are lifts). The delightful sitting-dining room and three tasteful bedrooms all enjoy a breathtaking view across the nursery slopes towards the church.
Two of the bedrooms are not huge, but they are all beautifully fitted and finished, with good bathrooms and larger-than-average beds.
You really can ski to and from the building. If you’ve ended the day at La Daille or Le Fornet, the bus comes practically to the door, the excellent Snowberry ski shop is in the same building, the chalet has DVDs and WiFi, and we really can’t think of anything else you need to know!
Facility Description
Rooms in order of preference (in our opinion):
Bedroom 1: Twin/double (12’6” x 10’) on upper floor, with en-suite bathroom (bath & shower) and wc, french window to balcony.
Bedroom 2: Twin/double (14’ x 12’) on upper floor, with shower-room and wc two paces across landing, french window to balcony.
Bedroom 3: Double (11’6” x 9’) on lower floor, by living room, with en-suite shower, wc just outside in hall, french window to balcony.
Sitting-Dining Room: (17’ x 14’ including open-plan kitchen) on lower floor. TV, DVD, WiFi, french window to balcony.
Location Description
Central and nearby to the rond point des piste - located in same building as the Snowberry ski shop.
