Facility Description
Staying in Dauphine is like having your own house. Long ago the central part of a French farmhouse, Dauphine has 5 bedrooms, three bathrooms, a sitting room, and a spacious full-service kitchen with a vaulted ceiling.
Dauphine's bedrooms are double and triple occupancy. Colorful spreads or duvees adorn each bed. Two of the bedrooms share a balcony that looks out onto La Danchére and the mountains that encompass the hamlet. The sunny sitting room has a foldout bed, if needed. Each room has a decorative wardrobe and window views of the Le Lauvitel garden and the surrounding peaks.
The bathrooms in Dauphine are newly renovated and family style with tub or shower, sink, and toilet. One bedroom has its own shower and sink.
If you choose self-catering, you have the option of requesting catering services when desired. By reservation and for a reasonable fee, you may avail yourself of hot breakfast or dinner in our main catered chalet, Khumbu.
Our heating room provides drying space; your equipment can be safely stored in our large garage. Alternatively, you may choose to leave your ski equipment in Les Deux Alpes at Twinners Ski Hire.
For anyone organising family reunions or wanting to gather friends together, we are able to combine the Dauphine and Khumbu chalets to accommodate up to 30 people.
Location Description
Dauphine is one of two adjoining chalets at Le Lauvitel Holiday and Retreat Centre in La Danchére Venosc. The chalet has stunning views up the Veneon valley to the slopes of Les Deux Alpes and down the La Remanche valley to Le Belledonne.
Our location gives easy access to Les Deux Alpes by way of the Venosc telecabine (8 mins by car), the lifts at Alpe D' Huez (20 mins), and challenging off-piste skiing at La Grave (30 mins).
After a full day enjoying the benefits of purpose built ski-resorts and world class skiing you will return to the peace and charm of an authentic mountain hamlet with its own chapel, bread ovens, and terraced fields.
Our location 1 hour 20 mins from Grenoble airport and 1 hour 45 minutes from Lyon airport allows you to avoid the worst of transfer day traffic.
