Le Lauvitel, originally a farmhouse and then a rural hotel and gîte, has been converted into two adjoining chalets--Khumbu and Dauphine. For anyone organising family reunions or wanting to gather friends together, we are able to combine the chalets to accommodate up to 30 people.

Khumbu is a large chalet boasting a cheery entrance, full bar, and restaurant-quality kitchen. Hot breakfasts, pre-dinner apparitifs, and 3-course dinners with wine are served in the large sitting/dining room. Your dining and relaxing experiences will be enhanced by the ever-burning fire in the natural stone, wood-burning fireplace and three windowed walls that open up exquisite views of the surrounding peaks.

Your group can reserve some or all of the 8 bedrooms. Each bedroom accommodates a double bed or single beds; the beds in each room can be arranged to exactly meet the needs of your group. Each room has clothes storage space, colorful spreads or duvees, and mountain or valley views. Two rooms have en-suite facilities. Three loft bedrooms comprise their own small apartment with sunlit sitting room and private bathroom.

Rooms without en-suite facilities have access to newly renovated family-style bathrooms.

Our heating room provides drying space; your equipment can be safely stored in our large garage. Alternatively, you may choose to leave your ski equipment in Les Deux Alpes at Twinners Ski Hire.

Khumbu is the main chalet at Le Lauvitel Holiday and Retreat Centre in La Danchére Venosc. The chalet has stunning views up the Veneon valley to the slopes of Les Deux Alpes and down the La Remanche valley to Le Belledonne.

Our location gives easy access to Les Deux Alpes by way of the Venosc telecabine (8 mins by car), the lifts at Alpe D' Huez (20 mins), and challenging off-piste skiing at La Grave (30 mins).

After a full day enjoying the benefits of purpose built ski-resorts and world class skiing you will return to the peace and charm of an authentic mountain hamlet with its own chapel, bread ovens, and terraced fields.

Our location 1 hour 20 mins from Grenoble airport and 1 hour 45 minutes from Lyon airport allows you to avoid the worst of transfer day traffic.
