Description

ski-in, ski-out apartment in the picturesque village of Oz en Oisans, part of the huge Alpe D'Huez ski area. Three twin-bed rooms with 2 bathrooms and a separate WC also, with leather sofas and extremely well furnished to a high standard. This is not the usual ski studio but our home from home in the mountains.

The Ski locker and access to the slopes are all on the same level and the apartment looks out onto, but is set back from the pedestrianised village.

With swimming pool, sauna and fitness room and bars and restaurants in the village it is a perfect spot for those looking for a great location!

Facility Description

The apartment sleeps 6 people comfortably and there is a sofa-bed if you are really keen and want to sleep 8. There is a bathroom with shower and WC, a separate bath and shower, and a separate WC, so no need to compromise on bathrooms.

The kitchen is fitted by ourselves to a UK specification, so there are proper facilities including double oven, 4 hotplates, microwave, dishwasher and enough workspace to actually prepare a meal. This is much better fitted out than the standard apartments in the area. If like us you like to eat out there are enough restaurants to eat out in a different place each night, so although it is small and friendly, it is big enough to have a good time!

For those with children we have a travel cot, high chair and plastc plates etc, so you can minimise what you need to bring with you. The apartment is 70 m2 so is of a good size for 6 people.

There is a creche close by (c.100m) which is excellent and looked after our children really well. Booking early is recommended and beware the need for your red book and a letter from your GP regarding TB (check our website for details)

What else can I say - take a look on the website - www.skihedgehog.co.uk

Location Description

The Chalet des Neiges complex consists of 5 units and a restaurant/swimming pool complex. Our apartment is in the block right on the slopes looking out on to the slope where everyone finishes their days skiing - a perfect place to chill on the balcony and watch the end of the day. It is above but next to the restaurant/swimming pool building.

The access to the slopes is on the same level as the apartment so all you need to do is take your skis off, put them in the ski locker, and then walk a few metres further to the door of the apartment.

The Apartment is about 10-15 metres up the slope from the main pedestrianised village, so does not suffer from noise, but is convenient to walk to the bars, restaurants and other facilities in the village.

Oz is a small village which is quieter and less packed than neighbouring Alpe D'huez so if you prefer high quality accommodation in a relaxed atmosphere this could well be for you. If you are chasing bars and a hectic night life, this is probably not for you.

Access to the main ski area of Alpe D'Huez is from the lift next to the apartment and in about 7 minutes you are at the first level of the main ski area. The resort also has access to Vaujany which can be extremely useful on windy days when access from Alpe D'Huez is impossible, which virtualy guarantees skiing in any conditions.

The two runs back to Oz have snow cannons so even in the worst of conditions you can still ski back to the resort.

Many of the enquiries we have are from people who have already been to Oz, so once you try it you may want to keep coming back!
