Description
Chalet Rond Point is a former two star hotel that we run as a chalet. It is ideally located in the centre of Megeve for those who want to maximise their time enjoying the shops, boutiques, bars and nightclubs. We offer full weeks and also short breaks (3-5 days' duration) due to the short transfer time (only 70 minutes from Geneva Airport).
Facility Description
Chalet Rond Point has 13 comfortable but not luxurious ensuite bedrooms and a games room in the basement with free-to-view British satellite TV, English DVD, board games, table football and a computer with internet access. The small sitting/bar area is newly renovated with an open log fire in front of which you can relax after a hard day's skiing and we have an excellent chef so the food is of a high standard.
Prices include coach transfers to and from Geneva airport, breakfast, afternoon tea, 3 course evening meal with wine on six nights (Friday night is staff night off) and our accompanied skiing programme on 3 mornings of the week.
Location Description
Chalet Rond Point is in the centre of Megeve and is very convenient for getting to the many shops and bars. It is handy if you have ski beginners in your group as you simply take the main Chamois gondola lift to the top and this is where ski school meets.
The chalet is only a 3 minute walk from the Chamois gondola lift. You can ski back down an itineraire route to within 50 metres of the chalet or take the Chamois gondola lift back down (you can leave your skis and boots at the ski hire shop at the bottom of the lift).
Megeve itself is a beautiful, very French, town full of character and delightful to explore. It has a pedestrianised centre with a Medieval church and narrow, cobbled streets full of exclusive boutiques, delicatessens, bars and restaurants. There is plenty to do for non-skiers and skiers alike - two ice rinks (one indoor, one outdoor), a 25m swimming pool in the main sports centre, indoor tennis courts, an indoor climbing wall, etc. You can also be pampered at beauty salons or take a calèche (horse-drawn carriage) ride around the town.
The ski area is huge with over 445km of piste and 113 lifts included on the lift pass. There is something for everyone: from the complete beginner graduating from the nursery slopes to the green and blue runs snaking through the trees to the black slope skiers taking on the off-piste challenge of Mont Joly. For those who like to notch up the kilometres, then take a day to ski over to the charming village of St. Nicholas. Alternatively, there are plenty of picturesque places in which to ease your muscles if your taste runs more to coffee breaks!
The quick transfer time of only 70 minutes means Megève is ideal for short breaks as well!
