Ecrins Lodge

The Ecrins Lodge has been set up by Will and Alex Corder who have a combined total of over 20 years living and (Will) working as a Chef in winter ski resorts all over the world. This combined with a number of Summer season cooking for the rich and famous on private motor yachts make the Ecrins Lodge a fantastic location for excellent food. They pride themselves on offering a very personal service to all of his guests and creating an Alpine home from home. Will and Alex now live in the next village, but will be at the chalet for breakfast and from 4pm when they serve afternoon tea, so will be around to give advice and local information to get the best out of you holiday.

The heart of our Lodge is our living and dining room, with comfortable sofas gathered round a wood-burning stove for chilly winter months and doors opening onto a spacious outdoor terrace complete with a large hot tub. The living room has music, Ipod docking station, Plasma television, a DVD player (with a good library of popular films and shows) and UK satellite TV with sports and movies. Our Lodge has wi-fi broadband internet connection, a variety of board games and, when the snow has melted, a table tennis table for outside. Our living area is also equipped with a drinks fridge and tea and coffee facilities.

Three of our bedrooms can be arranged in a double or a twin bed layout. All have brand new en-suite shower rooms. One of these rooms also has a large mezzanine with space for a further two beds. Our final bedroom is a single room, serviced by the fourth communal large bathroom just over the landing. All are beds are new and very comfortable.

Our Lodge has a large lockable heated ski/snowboard/boot room to keep your valuable equipment safe, and where you can dry all your ski clothing ready the next day’s activities. In addition we have an agreement with our ski hire shop in les Deux Alpes who have overnight heated lockable ski storage directly at the bottom of the slopes so you are free to enjoy the resort without cumbersome equipment.

Our Lodge is situated in the tranquil village of Les Gauchoirs, five minutes free shuttle from the Venosc gondola that whisks you to the high altitude ski resort of Les Deux Alpes. After the hustle bustle of a fun -packed day on the slopes, followed by a few après ski drinks in one of the many bars in the resort, you will look forward to the peacefulness of our Lodge’s location, with stunning views from the new terrace and hot tub and the promise of a professionally cooked three course dinner and wine.

Thanks to the valley location transfer time from Grenoble is only 1h.15.

The building, which has recently been completely renovated, dates back over two hundred years and is in the typical style of the area. It offers views of the surrounding Ecrins National Park, down the valley to the raging Veneon river and of Les Deux Alpes ski slopes.
