La Glisse

La Glisse is a wonderfully secluded self catered chalet at the bottom of the piste, with outdoor hot tub and large stone fireplace. It is a farmhouse style high mountain refuge with a large (70m²) double volume open plan central area and expansive west facing windows, which capture the outstanding valley and mountain views, while soaking the chalet in afternoon sunshine.

The chalet backs onto the nursery slopes, while higher up the mountain are some of the best intermediate runs and backcountry rides in the Chamonix Valley. It is a 30m walk to the beginner lifts and another 100m across the piste to the main gondola which takes you up to the Le Tour/Vallorcine ski area, which is also a popular summer hiking destination.

The chalet is primarily on one level, with the 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms leading off from the double volume living area. There are two double bedrooms, a family room (double bed plus two singles) and a mezzanine area with a double bed.

This refuge oozes comfort and warmth, with an eclectic mix of traditional and exotic furnishings creatively blended to give a relaxed feel.

La Glisse is on the edge of Le Tour village, at the top of the Chamonix Valley. Le Tour (alt. 1,462m) is a tiny typical Haute-Savoie village dominated by Le Tour glacier, which seems to hangs over the village. The 500 year old traditional village is sought after by those in search of an authentic French alpine experience, where the beauty and charm has not changed for centuries.

Le Tour is the starting point of many summer hiking trails, as well as a beautiful location in which to simply relax and soak up the sunshine.

It is a 2 minute drive to Argentiere (Les Grands Montets), another 10 minutes to Chamonix (Flegere, Brevant and La Vallee Blanche) and 15 minutes to Les Houches.
