Description
Chalet Bartavelle is a charming, gourmet catered chalet. Owned and run by an ex Oxo restaurant senior chef, food is our big specialty together with fantastic service. As we are privately chalet, it literally is our business to make sure that you have a lovely holiday.
Facility Description
Chalet Bartavelle is run by owners Jerry and Bettina Mant and it is our aim to make your stay with us as special as we possibly can. Our specialties are gorgeous food and a personalised service.
The chalet offers a warm, welcoming feel. It was converted from a barn in 1974 and was re-renovated to a high standard in 2002 and so it is a blend of old charm and modern comforts.
Jerry has been a chef for 20 years, working in Australia, France and some of the best restaurants in London. As Senior Chef he was part of the management team behind Oxo Tower restaurants and previously with Harvey Nichols V Floor Restaurant. He emphasises the use of good fresh ingredients to promote great flavours that compliment each other. You can truly look forward to one of his superbly prepared meals.
The chalet has a large living/dining room with a log fire and comfy chairs, in which to relax after a long days skiing. We have a good supply of books and games for your afternoon and evening entertainment, a stereo with CD player and high speed, wireless internet access. We also have a 2nd lounge with TV, DVD player and sky freeview.
As part of our service we will be happy to help you organise your airport transfer, lift passes, ski/boarding equipment and lessons, nanny and/or crèche services or anything else you may require during your holiday.
Location Description
Our Chalet is based in Meribel, in the heart of the 3 valleys, the largest ski area in the world. Here you will find runs for every level, whether you are a beginner to super advanced, there is something here for everyone.
Meribel is serviced by no less than 4 airports of which Chambery is the closest with a transfer time of 1 hour. Grenoble and Lyon are both about 1.30 hours away and Geneva is 2 hours away.
The chalet is situated in le cruet a small charming hamlet just below meribel. We have a blue piste that runs behind the chalet and which can be used for getting back to the chalet for most of the season but for sake of ease we also offer a daily drop of and pick up service to the main lifts in Meribel so you don't have to worry about logging your equipment around.
