Facility Description

Named after the waterfall that runs through the garden, Chalet Cascade is a beautiful, perfectly located ski chalet, full of unique features. The most striking aspect of this chalet is the large, open plan living space, which is filled with natural light from the tall French windows covering the entire length of the side wall, this light and airy space provides a wonderful setting for your evening meal and gives you a glorious view of the mountains from your breakfast table. Behind the chalet you can see the Prarion gondola passing overhead and it is a short walk, or if snow conditions and skills permit - ski, through the woods down to the bottom of the Prarion lift, happily you can also ski back near to the chalet by following a woodland trail splitting off the "Aillouds" blue run and following this to where it joins the road past the chalet. There are five spacious bedrooms each with their own shower or bath and three also have their own wc. A mezzanine floor in one of the rooms makes for an excellent family room or a good space for a group of friends. The chalet is originally styled, with eye-catching features such as the hanging bed upstairs and the hand made brushed steel chimney breast above the large open fire in the living room. These compliment perfectly the modern conveniences such as the large flat screen TV with DVD, Nintendo Wii and the fully equipped kitchen. The Jacuzzi on the outside deck is the perfect place to relax before dinner after a day on the slopes as you watch the sun dip below the ever impressive Chamonix mountain range. Chalet Cascade is a charming property in a spectacular setting. What more could you want from a holiday property.

Location Description

Les Houches is the ski village of the Chamonix Valley, with it's tree lined slopes, superb and more pisted runs than any of the other Chamonix stations the resort has always made for a pleasurable weeks skiing. In the last few years the village has also improved it's nightlife and services making it an even more attractive destination.

The Village is split into four main areas, Prarion, Bellevue, Centre and St-Antoine, which are all along the main road running through Les Houches. At one end of the village there is the Prarion sector, which contains the Prarion Gondola and the Marmotte restaurant and bar along with a small convenience store where you can buy essentials such as wine, beer and fresh bread in the mornings. Opposite the lift is Battendier Sports, one of our partner ski shops where you can also store your hire skis at the end of the day. Bellevue is about 5-10 minutes walk further on with the Bellevue Cable Car and Cyprien Sports our other partner Ski shop just up the road. There is also a tobacconist and for Sports Fans 'The Slalom' bar shows all the televised sporting events such as Premiership & Champions League football & Six Nations rugby on SKY SPORTS. The 'Basilic' restaurant at the Bellevue offers a wide and varied menu including local specialities while next door at the 'Pull Up' bar you can try flavoured rums and treat everyone to your favourite Karaoke classics! In the centre of the village, another 5-10 mins up the road is the centre, where you can have a fondue at the 'Chavanne' hotel or try the excellent cuisine & service at the Délice, where children eat free between 6 - 7pm. The Delice also doubles as a bar and is very popular after dinner throughout the week. St Antoine is the more commercial part of the village and another 10 minute walk from the centre, here there are petrol stations, supermarket, pharmacy, doctors, hairdressers etc.

If you fancy spreading your wings further then you can jump on the bus to Chamonix from any of these four sectors and be in the centre of town in about 10 - 15 minutes.
