Description
Beautiful traditional chalet sleeping ten, with hot tub, stunning views in every direction, balcony and huge garden, walking distance to ski lifts and restaurants
Facility Description
This lovingly renovated traditional chalet was originally built as a mountain guide's home, and has an authentic Savoyarde warmth and welcome.
Spectacular woods and mountains frame the huge private garden - there are stunning views of Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du Midi, The Dru, Brevent and Flegere from the chalet, the balcony and of course from the hot tub. The chalet sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms, which includes one ensuite bedroom in the cosy mazot (an utterly charming, fully en-suite mini-chalet in the garden)
The spacious triple aspect living room has two large and very comfortable sofas, a widescreen TV with DVD and PS2, WiFi, stereo with iPod dock and a bar, games (including Scalextric), DVDs and books. The traditional tiled kitchen is very well equipped with new, modern appliances - there's a halogen hob and fan oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, raclette and fondue sets and a log fire.
Location Description
South facing and sunny, in a magnificent setting ringed with woods and mountains, the chalet is in a tranquil spot, set back from a small private road. From chalet, garden, balcony or hot tub, the views of the peaks - including Mont Blanc - are stunning in every direction.
There are plenty of restaurants and a couple of bars within a few minutes walk, ranging from cheerful Italian pizzeria to superb French haute cuisine. It's just five minutes from the cosmopolitan centre of Chamonix by car, or a pleasant 20 minute stroll along the woodland paths or a quiet back road.
A short walk takes you to the Flegere lift and the huge, varied ski area of Flegere and Brevent - Chamonix's sunniest slopes. The cross-country ski tracks weave through the trees close by.
In summer, some of the most spectacular mountain hikes in Europe can be started at the door. The Chamonix golf course, in the village, provides a world class eighteen hole course with superb views
