Chalet Glacier

Chalet Glacier, with its four en suite bedrooms, is a beautiful traditional stone and wood chalet. It benefits from an excellent location, being just three minutes walk from the nearest lift (adapted in the summer for walkers and Mountain Bike uplift) which takes you straight up to 2,300m altitude.

Les 2 Alpes is a lively, friendly resort with a fantastic international summer atmosphere and lots of non-skiing activities on offer. The glacier ski area boasts some of the highest skiing in Europe with pistes to suit all abilities, race lanes and famous snow park with 2 pipes.

From the chalet it is also only a three minute walk to main street, with numerous shops nearby, including the lift pass office, ski and MTB hire, tennis courts, many restaurants, boulangerie, après ski bars, tabac and anything else you may need! All this is within easy walking distance.

The chalet oozes Alpine charm. The spacious lounge has wooden beams and south facing French windows. It’s great to return home from morning skiing or all-day walking to sit in the quiet garden and look over to the dramatic snowy peak of the glaciated Muzelle mountain.

We have four lovely rooms available, each comfortably sleeping 2 (or 3). All rooms are fully en suite with WC's and tastefully decorated.

The nightlife is excellent, great bars and restaurants - a brilliant international atmosphere. We have a lovely garden at the chalet, great for BBQ's. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the biggest and best maintained park in Europe. Come and ride alongside Pro riders from all over the world. Les Deux Alpes is a World Class MTB Resort!! More than 120 km of pupose built and well maintained Down Hill marked trails. Ride from the Glacier 3200m down to Venosc 900m - this is a 2300m vertical descent, all with lift access! (Secure bike storage for summer mountain bikers).

Bed & Breakfast or self catering in June, July or August. Flexible arrival and departure dates to suit you. Please contact us for advice regarding travel. Main budget airlines use nearby Grenoble or Lyon, L2A is easy to get to by car, or very inexpensive overnight Eurolines bus from London to Grenoble.

Skiing & Snowboarding – The terrain on the glacier is easy with cruisey blues and greens, perfect for confidence building or technical progression. For any level of skier, how about trying your hand at racing ‘Ski Sunday Style’ as Rod runs slalom and Giant slalom training clinics most weeks, open to both racers and those who have never tried it before, it is brilliant fun and great developmental work.

As a Snowsport Scotland tutor, Rod runs Alpine Ski Leader courses with accomodation in the chalet - call or email for more course information, dates and availability.

Freestyle skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the biggest and best maintained park in Europe. Come and ride alongside Pro riders from all over the world.

Downhill Mountain Biking – Les Deux Alpes is a World Class MTB Resort!! More than 120 km of purpose built marked trails and lifts for summer mountain biking. Ride from the Glacier 3200m down to Venosc 900m - this is a 2300m vertical descent, all with lift access! Bike Park with 4X, walls, northshore, tables, dirtlines, jumps over 5m high, mega-gaps and the speed wall! Action packed MTB events also take place here throughout the summer - including in June the famous Le Mondial du VTT and in July the Mountain of Hell. There are other regular cross country MTB events, and of course the Tour de France passes nearby in July too.

Bikes and helmets etc can all be hired in resort. MTB guiding available, or introduction to downhill technique.

Les Deux Alpes has a great cosmopolitan atmosphere in the summer, with a wealth of cafes and shops to mooch around. Lots of people ski in the mornings, then come down for a lazy outdoor lunch, followed by a swim or trying one of the activities above, many of which are included in the lift pass.
