Find Ski Chalets and Luxury Chalets in La Rosiere
So what's La Rosiere like?
La Rosiere was built in the '60s with further development in the '80s. Very fortunately it doesn't suffer from the same architectural scaring as the close by Tignes. Most of the chalets in La Rosiere are constructed of local and traditional building materials. La Rosiere's chalets are mostly catered chalets, however there are some self catering options. There are some ski-in ski-out chalets in La Rosiere, however most are a short walk to the bottom of the lifts.
La Rosiere was the location of the ChaletPro team ski trip in January 2009, so it's got a fond place in our hearts (with the exception of the blown ACL, but that's another story). With it's relatively gentle south facing slopes, the resort is mainly focused at beginner and intermediate skier. There is however a hidden gem for the more extreme skier. With all the local powder hounds tearing up the near by resort of Sainte Foy, the off piste terrain can stay relatively untracked in La Rosiere for days. This makes for some seriously relaxed powder skiing - the way it should be. And if that's not enough for you, it's only a hop, skip, and a jump over the border to the Italy (La Rosiere is linked to the Italian resort of La Thuile) where there are no laws restricting heli-skiing. Nice. Did I also mention that, due to the local geography, La Rosiere has an above average snow fall record for the region.
