So what's Zermatt like?
Zermatt is located at the northern base of the Matterhorn in Switzerland. Zermatt is known throughout the world for its great skiing, especially Triftji for its moguls. The ski area in Zermatt is split into four: Sunnegga, Gornergrat, Klein Matterhorn and Schwarzsee. There is also a connection to Cervinia and Valtournenche in Italy. The high altitude ensures skiing here all the way through to the summer months.
To prevent air pollution that would cloud the town's perfect view of the Matterhorn, Zermatt is a car-free zone. Electric vehicles are allowed for local trade. Visitors mostly reach Zermatt by the cog railway or taxi from Täsch, the near by town. Trains can also be taken to Zermatt from further down the valley at Visp and Brig, which are on the Swiss rail network. [more from Wikipedia]
