Find Ski Chalets and Luxury Chalets in Val d'Isere
So what's Val d'Isere like?
Val d’Isere is considered by many to be the greatest resort in the world. It manages to combine great architecture and traditional Alpine ambience with unparalleled skiing and boarding terrain. The lack of trees at this high altitude means there are vast open powder fields, steep descents and endless groomed trails for those who don’t like to be restricted by pistes, and Tignes is just a lift, schuss and a jump away.
There is something for everyone in Val d’Isere and it’s not all about the snow. For those with limitless stamina and very deep pockets, apres ski starts before you even leave the slopes and goes on well into the night, or if you’d rather save yourself for daylight pursuits there are spas and treatment centres that will fluff and buff your body ready for another day on the slopes.
Accommodation is made up of stone and wood buildings that blend perfectly into the picturesque surroundings. They are mostly luxury catered and self-catered chalets but because the runs down into the village are tricky it’s not an ideal resort for beginners.
Due to its popularity Val d’Isere is often very busy so pistes and lifts can get jammed, but if you’re not in a hurry to get anywhere and you appreciate good scenery as well as great skiing then this one could be for you.
