So what's Morzine like?
Morzine is an old alpine market town in the north of the French Alps. It's characterised by the numerous traditional chalets, and it's laid back feel, and it is consequently a great favourite for family ski holidays. The majority of the holiday accommodation options are catered chalets, and given the large number of chalets in the resort there are some good deals to be had. The competition between the catered chalets makes for a very high standard across the resort.
Morzine is part of the huge Porte Du Soleil ski area. The pistes are tree lined which provides much needed visibility in poor conditions. Given the relatively lowly altitude (1000m), Morzine is susceptible to poor snow conditions at either end of the season, but with it's connections to other (higher) resorts in the Porte Du Soleil ski area, there is always some good snow to be found somewhere. Off piste there are options for the more adventurous with numerous trails of varying difficulty.
